El Semillero contest at BAFW

El Semillero is a new talent contest at BAFW, promoting recently graduated students from UBA (University of Buenos Aires).

Among the winners on show, Nadia Stuer (collection pictured top left) stood out. She presented a collection inspired by military looks and told WGSN that her main inspiration was the Argentinean military coup.

"The concept of the collection is about something that is flawless on the outside but stained, torn and dark on the inside. I developed the inner garments in such a way that they are designed to be seen - so spots on the linings and transparent fabrics which let you see through them,” she told WGSN.

WGSN also loved designers Catalina Ichaso and Lucinda Walmsleys' collection (bottom left). Their work was inspired by WABISABI, and celebrates the beauty of asymmetric and layered looks.
