SoCal native, Jen Smith is the designer and creator of Ryder Smith, an accessories company that's quickly becoming the go-to brand for young Hollywood starlets and hipsters.
The well-edited debut collection features Navajo inspired bracelets and wraps, layered statement necklaces and custom-made "VIP" necklaces that are strongly reminiscent of totem accessories.
Unlike quick-to-market trend pieces, each Ryder Smith piece is designed and handmade by Jen, who finds a “steady peaceful rhythm” in designing jewelry. “For as long as I can remember, jewelry making has sort of been that thing that transports me somewhere else,” says Jen.
This transportation leads to intricate fusions of leather, metal, gemstones and other natural elements that make up the current collection. WGSN loves the Cecilia necklace with its elements of hard gold detailing and fluid stones – perfect with jeans and a tee or a little black dress.
